  • Description

Hydraulic drum brakes are similar to those used in the automotive industry and are reliable and efficient. The backing plate assembly comes fully equipped with everything needed to be mounted straight onto the mounting bracket, which is more convenient than replacing individual parts. It is activated by pressing down on the foot pedal, which in turn forces the hydraulic fluid to push the brake shoes to make contact with the drum and slow down the vehicle. Backing plates are not interchangeable and have a left and right side, with the right side being used on the driver side and left on passenger side. For any hydraulic brake system, it is important to bleed air before connecting the new backing plates.
